YEAH IT'S FRIDAY

Well today is Friday, mind you with no job it seems like just another day to me now. But i am still enjoying being a housewife. never ever thought those words would come out of my mouth.....

I am off to see Office Angels later to pass on extra references just in case they ever find me a job (secretly I hope not).  Then I am off to drop lovely daughter off to have her hair sorted, and then popping in to see my good freind Louise.

I have made a card already this morning, anothe baby card this time a lovely pink one. I did have a delivery as well yesterday my Memory box alphabet and numbers dies, the new C plate for my cuttlebug and also the multi pack of 6 x 6 embossing folders which I secretly ordered. They are really great and have used them already.

I did manage to make the Birtjday Card for hubby that I was musing over. I had to sucumb to using a photo and chose one from his dive trip to Egypt last year. hope he likes it.

These are just pictures of one card from yesterday, it was a practice using embossing and then die cutting a circle and putting a plain pice of card behind and using that as the background for the embellishments. Idea taken from Docrafts Gallery Chrissy4cards but hers was so much better than mine.

Thank you for loooking :)

Wednesday 6th March

Well its been a good few days since I posted anything on to this blog.
Been having some days up in the craft room and produced some really pretty cards. However I am now stuck, it is hubbys birthday next week and I always buy his card as I can never produce anything that I like enough to give him. But I have made a start on one but I am now lacking any inpsiration at all. he is into diving and sailing but I dont want to use a photograph if I can help it and I am just lost. so it may be the card shop after all.....

I have been spending a bit more time on the Docrafts chat page and that is making me smile and have a lot of inspiration. The ladies on their are lovely with their comments about your cards and the ideas are bountiful.

Here are a few of this weeks cards. Hope you enjoy seeing them as much I have in making them.

SAD DAY

today I leqaqrned that God gained another little angel by his side Mitchell Jones from teh USA who suffered from DMD passed in the early hours. He was ten yeard old.

I have been following the posts by his father for the last few weeks and felt a special bond even though we had never met. I am very sad tonight and my thoughts and hugs are with his wonderful family tonight as they face the future without their little man.

having two healthy daughters I can only imagine what it must feel like to loose one of your children and such an awful disease.

Spend a few minutes extra with your children and give them a hug and tell them how much they mean to you, youn never know how long you have. xxxxx

Good night Dear Mitch, we nevr met or even spoke but i love you xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Happy St David's Day

wishing everyone a very happy St David's day and also a very happy Birthday to my wonderful father in law. sadly he is in a dementia home but I am sure that he is being well cared for and that my mother in law will be spending the day with him too.

I had planned to be doing some more cards today but this has been ashort lived as I woke with a really bad migraine and was sick. so went back to bed a couple of hours and it is now just clearing. I am due to collect the new car at 5pm so need to be able to drive.

Here are a couple of the cards I made yesterday, the one labelled as Peter was for my ex boss whos birthday is tomorrow. I really struggle with making male cards and so this really was a challenge for me, but I am pleased with how it looked.

This one is really blue didn't come out very well in the light.

Have a lovely day :)

Tuesday 26th Feb

Good Morning everyone, well this morning I have already re hung the lounge curtains twice before seven am. this silly curtain rail in the bay just does not work. but I have now sorted the left hand side and will tackle the right one in a bit. I promised yesterday that I would post the pictures of the cards I made so here we go. there are four. Two have a cascade of small punched butterflies which are from a vellum type paper and thena larger die cut butterfly on a circle of glitter card. I loved the way the little butterflied all folded their wings when the were glued to the paper if I could have filmed it I would have as they looked so real. The card that I am pleased with is the white one with the branch and flowers, I cut a die cut from the middle of the card and then did a larger one frsaming it and added a die cut branch with small flowers on. then backed the appature with lilac card.
Enjoy x

First time

Well this is a complete first for me, venturing into the world of blogging.
I suppose I should introduce myself, my name is Deniece I am 48 years old and a married mother of two lovely grown up daughters.

I am currently not in work and have used the time to build more and more of my card stock. I love making cards and having been doing so for about ten years now. I look back on the cards that I made when I first started and think "oh god how did anyone like them" but they did. Today I make a lot of cards just for the sake of making them. I have over the last year sold the cards to friends and work collegues to help raise money for a family who live close to me whose son has the muscle wasting disease Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. These funds are to help buy him the specialist wheelchair that will make life so much more easier for him.

thid is one of my cards from this week, I used the Memorybox die twice and as you can see I tend to like simple cards rather than very fussy ones. I struggle to come up with ideas for men and boys so Girlie ones tend to take over.

I am hoping to just write about my card making, photography and family here, use it as an outlet and let people see my work and hopefully share in the things that I like.
